What We Do

COA works collaboratively with our clients and a variety of individuals and organizations to develop synthetic, innovative projects. Based on interactive discussions, brainstorming and direct feedback, COA strives to integrate multiple concerns, including client needs, site opportunities, human factors and technological demands to form a coherent architectural project. Dependent on the requirements of the work, COA assembles the members of a team according to areas of expertise to creatively collaborate. Established relationships with structural, graphic, mechanical, landscape and environmental design consultants allow COA to bring specific expertise to almost any situation. An extensive array of design tools, including models, digital media, and drawing are available to explore the programmatic, spatial and architectural dimensions of the project.

What We Are Doing

The work of COA was exhibited at galleries in San Francisco and Los Angeles this past summer and fall. Currently the office is completing construction on several private homes in California and New York, as well as planning for new sustainable housing for Livable Places, a non-profit developer in Los Angeles. COA will soon begin work for an invited exhibition of new housing prototypes for a densified Los Angeles. Sponsored in part by the Graham Foundation for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, the exhibition will be held at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in the fall of 2002.
