JR Station Sapporo, Parking Garage Roof

Our concept develops the idea of the roof painting as a series of overlays that amplify the changing patterns already at work on the roof (including cars, parking delineations and text). The design is conceived as a set of interrelated patterns forming densities and openings, allowing the painting to ‘presence and breathe’ within the overall context. Nature and the seasons are referenced through the choice of color and repetition of similar elements.
